After yesterdays discussion about ideas for 'Against the ropes', Adeline and I kept emailing eachother just letting eachother know of any more ideas that we have had. This is Adeline's idea for against the ropes after my idea about the bulling topic to film, also it was based on some of the things I said about how it would be your stereotypical american school-type feel and the fact that the main school to our sixthform looks like an american school that you see in films and other music videos.
there are 5 different victims all together (could have more if we can get more people), and 3 bullies. and everyone else will be whoever we can find.
intro and verse
(from 0-26 seconds) the first bit is a reacton shot/ side pan along..? of all the by standers watching, looking kinda like horrified, then we show what they're looking at which is victim 1 being pushed against the lockers by the 3 bullies. then more reaction shots, the bullies tease vitcim 1 a bit, then the bullies leave, and then all the bystanders walk on and pretend like nothing happened.
(28 seconds- 40 seconds) vtictim 1 stands up, walks along the corridorwhile singing up to 40 seconds into the song(up to the come on, come on it's not over yet bit), girls are kinda pointing and laughing at him as he walks along, then he looks to the right and then we switch to show victim 2 being bullied by the three bullies.
(41-52 seconds) we switched to victim 2s point of view where he by the different coloured lockers being bullied , nd vitims 2 is singing/mouthing the words( he sings up to the never let your dreams die, thats why we live bit..)
chorus
(53- 1:22 seconds) we go back to show victim 1 walking along the corridor, victim 2 joins him and they sing the chorus. during this We show just like quick shots of the bullies shouting in someones ears (victim 3), them stealing someons lunch (victim 4) etc, and we switch back to the corridor scene and victim 3 and 4 have joined victim 1 and 2 in walking along the corridor singing the chorus ( it's like they're slowly becoming a crowd walking along the corridor)
second verse
(1:23- 1:58) we show a classroom, and the 3 bullies are laughing at victim 5 and they take victim 5s work or something, and hold it up really high so victim 5 has to jump to reach it. (victim 5 in this bit isnt mouthing the words) (we keep switching to all the other victims mouthing the words along as tney walk along the corridor as this is going on)
Chorus
(1:59-2:19) we show victim 1,2 and 3, 4 and 5 walking along the corridor mouthing the chorus
Bridge
(2:20 - 2:41) we show all the victims sat around the table 'plotting' against the bullies. (a circular pan) They sing the (we can't let go of the choices we've made, we wont break this, and they do that cheesy thing that football players do before they do a match where they all put their hands in the middle etc)while sat around the table
Last chorus
(2:42 -) -"the plan" victim 4 spits in his own sandwich, then the bullies find him and steal the sandwhich from him (they don't know its been spat in). before they can beat up victim 4, victim 3 "accidentally" runs into the bullies from the back. they get angry and chase victim 3 along the corridor. victim 3 leads them to a into supply closet or something. victim 3 runs out of the closet leaving the bullies in there. the other victims help lock the bullies in the closet. We show the bullies like knocking against the door etc. then we show the victims doing a cheesy high 5 and they walk away from the room the bullies are in. the last shot is of one of the bullies in the supply closet eating the sandwhich with spit in it.

(Discussing the songs and ideas)
Today we discussed ideas for our music video basing it on the two songs we had chosen 'Against the ropes' and 'Casablanca was a disaster movie'
For 'Against the ropes' we developed on my idea for your stereotypical nerd being bullied by the again stereotypical 'tough guy' bully. We talked about how as the song developed there should be like more and more 'nerd's' coming out and joining the rest of them forming a little group/gang, then at the end for them to take on the bullies, we agreed that there should be at least 5 'nerds/victims' and about 3 bullies. As the song developed and more of the nerds joined the rest of the group that the layout of where they stand would be sort of balanced on each side
E.g. One person right at the front sort of making them appear as a 'ringleader' and then two more coming behind them but slightly to the side of the first person and then again with the last two, making them appear in an arrow shape, ensuring everyone could be seen when we filmed it.

(Group Formation)
Today we decided which groups we wanted to work in, I decided to work with Adeline because we have similar tastes in music and she over the summer she had asked some groups if it was possible that they would let us use one of their songs, so that we could make a music video for them. After listening to the bands we both decided on the one band who we both really liked and that stood out to us 'Smile Lookalive' they are and alternative pop punk band, similar to 'a day to remember', 'Blink 182' and 'All time low' and these are the bands they aspire to be like.
After listening to the bands ExtendedPlay we decided on two songs that we liked 'Casablanca was a disaster movie' and 'Against the ropes' both songs had very similar meanings. We sat down and briefly talked about things we could do for each song, for 'Against the ropes' I had an idea about it should contain your stereotypical 'nerd' who gets bullied and slowly kind of regains the power against the bullies etc.
